ROM updates

Up to RISC OS 5.11 ROM updates were normally provided through the download capabilities of !IyoUpWtch, the IYONIX pc update watcher. However the upgrade to RISC OS 5.12 is a chargable upgrade, and is delivered in a different manner as it is keyed to your specific machine. Please visit http://www.iyonix.com/ROM for further information on purchasing the RISC OS 5.12 upgrade and subsequently downloading it.

The current free ROM image may be fetched here. (Note that this will only work on an IYONIX pc running !IyoUpWtch.)

The current free ROM image is RISC OS 5.11 release3, released 22/2/06.

This includes a fix to EtherK that caused occasional network (especially ShareFS) stalls, and the updates to the USB stack to support interrupt-out endpoints (e.g. for USB-Radio control panel usage). The ROM is built with the new CC 5.64 code execution sequence optimising compiler.

Thanks to prompt feedback an issue with a recent mod to the WindowManager that could cause aborts on program quitting has been identified and resolved. Also an issue with USB and scanners, which had 'crept in' is also resolved. !20060222ROM511rel3.zip contains a rebuild of the ROM, fixing both these issues. Anyone who downloaded the rom image before approx 3pm today, 22/2/06 should download again and reprogram.

Earlier ROM images are no longer available. Updating your IYONIX pc to the current image will create a restore programmer with which you can get back to the rom you currently use.
