USB

Introduction

The IYONIX pc provides four USB 1.1 compliant root ports: two on the rear of the case and two on the front.

The USB API is compatible with that of Castle Technology's USB card and further details are available on the following pages:

  • USB Driver API using the DeviceFS interface
  • !USBInfo. A helper/informer application created by X-Ample Technology bv. This lists all the information broadcast by the USB software when a device is connected or removed in a clear graphical form.
  • USB Mass storage drivers are now supplied with all IYONIX pcs. These work with a good selection of USB mass storage devices. More information on which devices are known to work is available in the USB device database. For those who wish to develop their own drivers, further information is available here, with some code samples, here.
